Are you a natural connector with strong regional ties and a passion for the A/E/C industry?
We’re looking for a Client Development Manager who knows how to spark conversations, build lasting relationships, and spot opportunities where technical expertise meets real-world impact.
At Lamp Rynearson, you’ll team up with engineers, planners, and designers to help grow our presence and our purpose of leaving a legacy in the communities we serve.
About us:
We’re on a mission to grow our community of solvers—visionaries who imagine, create, and deliver a legacy for future generations. As a civil engineering consulting firm rooted in purpose and driven to forge the future, our work is more than a job; it’s an unbounded quest for innovation and impact.
And here’s the cherry on top: as part of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), you’re not just joining a company—you’re becoming an owner, saving for your future while building ours.
What You’ll Do:
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the charge in cultivating new business, deepening existing relationships, and helping position our groups for success across multiple market sectors, and community-focused projects. You won’t just be driving growth—you’ll help shape the future of how we serve our clients and communities. This role is equal parts strategy, collaboration, and action—you’ll:
- Work closely with Omaha Office Leader to develop and lead strategic client development efforts and marketing strategies that align with office and group revenue goals.
- Maintain a clear understanding of technical services and disciplines to identify and match client needs with firm expertise.
- Initiate, build, and nurture key client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and connector.
- Proactively research markets, agencies, and funding sources to identify emerging opportunities.
- Support pursuit teams by contributing to client insights and lead go/no-go decisions, capture plans, and proposal strategies.
- Develop, implement, and track progress in pursuits with measurable objectives.
- Initiate, coordinate, and facilitate client meetings, presentations, and interviews.
- Collaborate with marketing, technical staff, and leadership on pursuit execution, including proposals, qualifications, and innovative winning strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop marketing plans and assist with existing client relationships.
- Track win rates and other marketing metrics for the office.
- Coach, train, and mentor staff to ensure consistency in messaging and client excellence best practices.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand visibility and market presence.
- Actively contribute to internal discussions on market positioning, conduct client debriefs, and contribute to business strategic direction.
What We’re Looking For:
- A relationship-builder with 5+ years in business development, sales, or client-facing roles—experience in the A/E/C industry is required.
- A strategic thinker who can adapt to speak the language of engineers, planners, and architects.
- A communicator who’s as comfortable presenting to executives as they are listening to a client’s emerging needs.
- Someone who can translate market signals into action plans.
- Someone who is curious about the world and willing to learn.
- Someone who is highly detailed and focused on quality deliverables.
- Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Deltek VantagePoint a bonus).
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
Your Team
- You’ll be surrounded by a creative and collaborative group—including graphic designers, marketing coordinators, and fellow client development professionals.
- You’ll partner closely with our community of solvers including our Omaha Office Leader, Group Leaders, Practice Leads, and supporting technical staff to execute winning strategies and grow the firm’s presence.
- Our marketing and business development team joins forces on proposals, digital media, events, and the pursuit of client excellence firmwide.
We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
